Stayed at the Sofitel which included breakfast π₯π³
As far as buffet breakfast goes - not an overly huge variety - it's the same eggs π₯ (made your way), bacon π₯, sausages π, mushrooms π, hash browns with a variety of bread, cured meats, cereal, fruits. We did like how they had crepes too.
Make sure you ask for a savoury crepe or an "open" omelette! These are one of the better ones to grab.
As for dinner. The outstanding dish was the crab π¦ souffle. The Bouillabaisse π² was a bit too salty for my liking and the artichoke was very tangy (in a good way). Dessert was super sweet and deconstructed so there's little to no tart at all! Kids loved their food and the grilled fish π was excellent.
Worth coming here if you are staying a few nights.
The restaurant has a charming and intimate atmosphere, with warm lighting and a cozy dΓ©cor. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to help you choose the perfect dish from the extensive menu.
The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, with a wide variety of French wines to choose from. The staff are knowledgeable about the wines and can help you find the perfect pairing for your meal.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Garcon Bleu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of France in Adelaide.
This was a proper fine dining experience
Staff are professional and thorough. Great product knowledge and understanding of food and beverage service and what they are serving to patrons.
Good attention to guests and great attention to detail overall.
We started with cocktails, and they were exceptional. We didn't book and were happy to sit at the bar with a drink to peruse the menu while waiting for a table.
The cocktail bar is a great spot, and within a few moments of sitting there, it was clear to see the staff know what they are doing and take pride in their work and service. Faultless.
At the table, they have a fantastic menu with great options for everyone. There are fantastic small plates, starters, and share items. An exceptional variety of dishes with a modern and classic French influence.
The wine list is extensive, and you could almost get lost in the options, but they are well laid out and easy to follow.
Staff were run off their feet, but it didn't show. It was very lively and busy with a great atmosphere. Their ability to service guests did not faulter.
Started with oysters, and they were fresh and amazing with the dressings.
House made bread and beautiful rich butter.
The beef fillet steak was incredible with all the trims. Beautiful ripe blistered truss tomatoes with full flavour, served with a traditional French sauce. Unfortunately, the shoe string French fries/Pommesl Frittes were not as cooked or crispy as I would have preferred, and the salad was lacking a bit of dressing and oomph. That was the only small downside. I ordered the beef fillet rare, and it was incredible. The fries and salad were not that important. Steak was impressive and cooked to perfection. Complimented by a big Barossa shiraz. It was a match made in heaven.
The bouillabaisse was incredibly good. A lovely range of fresh and tasty seafood in a warming flavoursome stew, perfectly balanced with traditional flavours. It was perfect for a winter night.
We finished with a beautiful French dessert wine, which was recommended and went down perfectly as an after dinner drink.
Highly recommended for those who want exceptional food and equally exceptional service and atmosphere.
Highly recommend the eye fillet steak which was perfectly cooked and very tender. Paired beautifully with the bearnaise sauce (which was the best bearnaise I have ever had).
Staff were friendly.
Fantastic views.
We went for a birthday celebration...food service and atmosphere was amazing...we will b back! The sommelier was informative and his wine recommendations pushed dinner to the next level.
This establishment falsely presents itself as an authentic French restaurant, lacking classic dishes such as snails or frogs' legs. Despite my 22 years in France, the menu failed to capture true French cuisine. My medium rare eye fillet was served fully raw, and the accompanying salad lacked tomatoes or cucumbers. Even the fries resembled McDonald's. With a bill of $360 for two, it's not just about the money but the disappointment from a misrepresented dining experience. The restaurant should focus on honest advertising, showcasing its food, not just the design. Additionally, I was misled about table availability, forced to sit at the bar for 35 minutes before being offered a table in an empty restaurant β a truly disappointing experience, especially within the Sofitel
Patricia, Gogo and Pascal took great care of me during my stay at the Sofitel. I was actually looking forward to hotel buffets for a change. They made sure I met my protein requirements, I would give them my whey protein powder and they would make the most delicious yogurt bowl. They always encouraged me to eat more and relax in, instead of hurrying me up like traditional buffets. Definitely recommend visiting whether youβre staying or just visiting.
This dining experience was made exemplary by our table waiter Troy and Sommelier, Daniel. Super attentive service , and engaging wine conversation was had.
It was clean and tidy.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
There is a huge selection both of food and wine/beverages.
It was quiet so the company and eating the meal was enjoyable, you didn't have to speak loudly over others to be heard.
The view was excellent, watching the sunset.
I truly recommend eating here, you won't regret it.
